Fat Quarter Explainer

What a fat quarter is can vary depending on providers, but it means 1 quarter of a section of fabric. This can vary because suppliers can sell by the yard or metre and fabric width can vary depending on brand.

lovefabric.ie sells by the metre, but fabric width can still vary (though most of our fabrics are 110cm wide) so our fat quarters are 50cm x 1/2 of the fabric width.

NOTE: We only cut fabric as a fat quarter when buying one unit of a fabric. If you buy 2 units, you'll receive one piece of fabric of a half metre length, 4 units will be a metre length etc. Should you prefer a long quarter (a quarter metre length) we can accommodate this, but please put a note in the "Customer Request" section when you are purchasing.
